In loving memory of Malcolm (Roy) Hooley

On the 22nd April 2021 at around 8.30pm, we sadly said goodbye to Malcolm (Roy) Hooley at 91 years old. Roy passed away peacefully next to his beloved wife, Pam, and daughter, Kathryn, after suffering with lung cancer.

Anyone who knew Roy, knew he was a vibrant and eccentric man who brought light, laughter and love to all. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and, of course, good friend to many. He enjoyed spending his time playing table tennis, watching sport, singing loudly to Gilbert and Sullivan and reading many books on history and the wars. Of course most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his ever growing family; Going on adventures with Pam and the kids, sneaking the grand-kids liquorice allsorts and holding his great grandchildren for the first time. Roy will be sorely missed by all.

During his battle with cancer, Roy and his family were greatly supported by the wonderful team at Willen Hospice. Willen holds a special place in the family’s heart, not only for the care of Roy, but also his two children, Anthony and Karen, in previous years. We ask that in lieu of flowers at the funeral, a donation is made to Willen to support this fantastic charity’s on-going work.
